LtGen John J. Broadmeadow USMC (Ret), a 1983 graduate of ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ, will be inaugurated as the 25th president of the university on April 24, 2025. Prior to becoming president, LtGen Broadmeadow had a distinguished 36-year career in the United States Marine Corps, during which he held various command and staff positions, including service in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. His leadership roles encompassed commanding the 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade and serving as Deputy Commander of the United States Transportation Command.​
As an alumnus, LtGen Broadmeadow's appointment reflects ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ's commitment to leadership and service, embodying the institution's values and traditions. His extensive experience in military operations and logistics positions him well to guide ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ in its mission to develop leaders for the nation and the world.

Cost: There is no cost to attend the inauguration luncheon; pre-registration is required. Limit to two tickets per person.
Inauguration Ceremony
Time: 2:00 p.m.
Location: Mack Hall
Cost: There is no cost to attend the inauguration ceremony. Due to limited seating, pre-registration is required.
Celebration of Transitions Dinner
Join us for this special fundraising event celebrating the Presidential Inauguration of LtGen John J. Broadmeadow, Chairman Alan DeForest’s leadership of the NU Board of Trustees, and welcoming the incoming Chair, Al Gobeille.

Attire: Business / Class As / Dress Blues or service equivalent
Cost: $150 per person (includes $75 tax deductible contribution to the Inauguration Fund) or $2,500 per table of 10 (includes $1,750 tax deductible contribution to the Inauguration Fund)
