American Chemical Society

This national student organization promotes excellence in architecture, education, training and practice; fosters appreciation of architecture and related disciplines; and combines architecture students’ efforts to advance architectural science. American Society of Civil Engineers
ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ’s American Society of Civil Engineers’ student chapter, NU ASCE, provides hands-on engineering experience to civil and environmental engineering and construction engineering management students. In the club, students gain engineering experience outside of the classroom, compete in annual competitions and represent ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ regionally and nationally. Criminal Justice Student Association
The association, founded in 1986, is an educational and social organization for all criminal justice majors. Club members, who share an interest in justice studies and federal law enforcement, collaborate on projects and help others through community outreach. The CJSA has organized educational trips to forensic labs, participated with the FBI in special weapons and tactics simulations, sponsored guest speakers and organized an annual field trip to Washington, D.C., to meet top federal law enforcement officials. Education Club
This club, tailored for education majors, is open to all ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ students. It has developed an annual service-learning Spring Break trip to New York City to volunteer at an inner-city elementary school.

The Physical Education Club promotes the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle by teaching lifelong sports and activities, providing hands-on experiences and boosting résumé building through conferences and certifications.
Political Science Club, aka Politeia
The Political Science Club promotes student interest in domestic and international politics through education and debate of prominent national issues. This club works to inform members about important decisions in Congress and remain on top of Washington’s political goings-on.
Pre-Law Society
The Pre-Law Society advances the scholarly study of law. It aims to help ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ students make informed decisions in selecting law as a career, choosing and applying to law school and preparing to practice in law or law-related professions.
Pre-Med Club
The Pre-Medical Club educates and prepares ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ students wishing to enter medical, dental or veterinary school after graduation. In weekly meetings, club members prepare for graduate entrance exams, explore career choices, land professional shadowing opportunities and network with alumni.
Society of Women Engineers
The ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ chapter of the connects members to forge friendships and explore professional engineering. Although club activities focus on issues of interest to women specializing in engineering and technical careers, club membership is open to all ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ students. Club activities include pumpkin carving, engineering day for area Girl Scouts, the He and Me Dance, professional field trips, apple picking and ice-cream socials.
Spanish Club
In the Spanish Club, which is open to all students and faculty, members learn about Latin American and Spanish current events and culture, including food, music, language and dances.
Sports Medicine Society
This club is open to all students with a special interest in sports medicine or athletic training.
Student Nurses Association
This club’s members participate in universitywide activities, organize American Red Cross blood drives, tutor underclassmen and participate in fund-raisers for a spring dinner with professional speakers in various nursing disciplines. Official website: .
Unmanned Systems Drone Club
The Unmanned Systems Drone Program, open to all ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ students, educates future leaders about drones and their application in military and civilian professions. The club conducts training to augment Federal Aviation Administration drone licensing, experiential classes from military and civilian leaders, and hands-on flying training.
