Mechanical Engineering Students Visit Gillette Stadium in Boston and Applied Research Associates in Randolph, VT
A Note from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Club President, Will Thornton on the experience.
Our first field trip took us to Gillette Stadium in Boston, where we attended the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) show. This was a great experience for our members as they engaged with a variety of vendors showcasing innovative products and services relevant to the engineering industry. The show allowed club members to see cutting-edge solutions and technologies in the pharmaceutical and other engineering industries, giving students a chance to network and learn directly from industry experts.
The second trip was to Applied Research Associates (ARA) in Randolph, Vermont. At ARA, we met with an engineer who provided an overview of their projects, which include the development of specialized equipment like the full-sized remote Polaris Explore MRZR Alpha. Additionally, the team at ARA is working on advanced concrete mixtures for use in additive manufacturing, which is a new opportunity for the future of construction and engineering.
Both trips were valuable for our members and broadened their perspectives and providing practical insights that tie directly into their studies here at ËÄ»¢Ó°ÊÓ.
